Chas and Dave – London Girl
Chas and Dave must be the ultimate pub sing along duo, with so so many classic sing along numbers, they also have a new album out.. when ever I play a Chas and Dave number at my Magic Betty sing along night the house comes down and sets the tone for a super fun night..
Oom-Pah-Pah
One of my personal favs as Magic Betty. never fails to bring a pub sing along to life..a story in song..Mr. Percy Snodgrass, Sally what magic..
Music and lyrics by Lionel Bart (1930 – 1999).
Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
Published in 1915 to become a very popular marching song in both the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Today 90 years later it still brings a smile, when ever I play this number at a sing along night,, young and not so young seem to love it..as they say the old ones are the best.. (seems to share something with I’m forever blowing bubbles or is it my ears) The song also won first prize in a war composition contest and was noted as “perhaps the most optimistic song ever written”.
